- 2013 Optimist Advanced, Intermediate, and Commodore's Fleet


PRELIMINARY NOTICE OF RACE

1.0 AUTHORITY
               
1.1  This regatta is organized under the authority of the Lauderdale Yacht Club and will be sailed under the management of the Race Committee.  The regatta will be governed by the current Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).


2.0 ENTRY / CLASSES: Advanced Optimist (Team Trials Qualified- Red, White, Blue fleeters), Intermediate Optimists (red, white, blue fleeters), Commodore's Fleet  (green fleet)

2.1 Individuals who participate in the Lauderdale Yacht Club’s Spring season of the junior program are eligible to compete. Information relevant to the Sailing Instructions will be communicated during the skipper's meetings.

3.0 REGISTRATION
3.1       Sunday, February 23, 2013           9:00 - 9:45 hrs   LYC Sailing Center Meeting Room (upstairs) Optimist Advanced and  Intermediate
                                                                1330--1345 hr LYC Sailing Center Meeting Room - Optimist Commodore's Fleet

3.2      There is no registration fee for this regatta. 

4.0 SKIPPER’S MEETING

4.1 The skipper’s meeting will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2013 at 0100 hrs at the LYC Sailing Center meeting room (upstairs).

5.0 SCHEDULE    
                       
 Sunday 2/23/13      Registration 0900 – 0945 hrs Optimist Advanced and Intermediate
 
                                 Skipper’s Meeting - 01000 hrs Optimist Advanced and Intermediate
                                 Warning Gun, 1st Race – 1100 hrs

Sunday 2/23/13     Registration 1330 -1345hrs (1:30-1:45) Optimist Commodore's Fleet
                                Skipper’s Meeting - 1345 hrs Optimist Commodore's Fleet

6.0 SCORING SYSTEM

6.1 The Low Point scoring system, rule A2 will apply, modified so that each boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores, with her worst score discarded if five or more races have been completed.  Five or more races are scheduled, of which two races shall be completed to constitute a series.
