Green Fleet Last day of Practice May 10th

The last day of practice for green fleet will be moved from Sunday May 11th to Saturday May 10th.

10:30am-5:30pm Practice on May 3rd and 4th

This is a reminder that practice will start and end an hour later this weekend. Green fleet practice will be the normal time, 1:30-4:30.

LYC Calendar April-May 2014

LYC Optimists,

As we wrap up our spring season, I wanted to share a few important dates to note on your calendar.

·        Markus will be coaching Silver and Gold combined practice this weekend. Practice will begin both days at 9:30am.

·       The last spring series race will be on Sunday 4/27 for green and silver fleet. The racing will take place in front of the club from 1:30- 4:30. Gold fleet is encourage to participate in the series racing but will not be scored. Silver and green fleet will be scored separately. Silver and gold will start during their normal practice time and then come in for the series racing at 1:30

·        May 3-4 weekend practice will start and end an hour later 10:30-5:30 for all fleets. Green fleet will have a normal practice time from 1:30-4:30. This time change is to reduce congestion at the sailing center as we are hosting the annual Ron Payne Snipe regatta.

.     On Saturday May 10th is the last spring series race for Gold fleet.

·        Team pictures will taken first thing on the last day of practice,  May 11^th.

·        The Hospice Youth regatta is on Saturday May 17^th !!

·        The spring Banquet is on Thursday May 22^nd, at 6pm. Invitations will be sent out soon. Please email me any photos from the fall or spring that we can include in the slide show.

Key Biscayne Yacht Club - April 18 & 19, 2014

Dear Opti Families,

We have the South East Dinghy Champs this weekend at the Key Biscayne Yacht Club!  Please note that this is a Fri & Sat event, no sailing on Easter Sunday.  If you want your sailor to attend sign-up your sailor in this blog by clicking here.  And then register on-line at the US Sailing Regatta Network site (here's the link) where you can find additional information like the Notice of Race, view the registrants and visit the event website.

Trailer Loading/Unloading
Load your Optis and sailing equipment/gear by Thursday night at the latest since the LYC truck and trailer will be heading south on Friday early morning.  Our trailer will be on-site and ready for the unloading process at the Key Biscayne Yacht Club at 7:45 am.

Coach Boat Towers/Volunteers
We need (3) coach boats to tow to and back from KBYC please contact me by phone or email if you can help us out on this matter.  It is important that we all make the effort to tow so we don't have to ask the same sailing families over and over again.
