2015 Summer Clinics & Nationals

It’s time to start making plans for summer!

We are thrilled to be participating at Nationals and we hope many of you take advantage of this great opportunity to compete with sailors from all over the country. This summer we are supporting a Nationals team for both Green and Championship Fleet. Prior to Nationals we are offering a 2 week clinic for RWB Fleet and a 1 week clinic for Green Fleet.

Championship Fleet Clinic June 29^th - July 10^th    (1 or 2 week option)

Green Fleet Clinic July 6^th- 10^th

Nationals Regatta July 18^th-26^th

Valerie Rozzo valerierozzo@comcast.net  and Stacy Moss SMoss@iyc.com have volunteered to coordinate housing for Nationals in Pensacola. Please contact them if you would like to be included in team housing arrangements.

On Monday, May 11^th at 6pm we will have a Nationals planning meeting in the upstairs classroom.

In the program documents tab, you will find our Nationals Brochure which has details and pricing for both Clinics and Nationals. This is for you to read over, we will have copies available in the office. To reserve you spot you must detached the bottom portion of the form and submit a $100 security deposit.

Weekend Practice & Upcoming Events

This weekend is our Commodores Cup (aka Spring Series #1). Silver and Gold fleet are practicing in Miami this weekend and will have their Series racing today March 21^st.

Green Fleet series racing will be on Sunday March 22^nd. Please be rigged and ready by 1:30pm.

The top 3 finishers from each fleet will receive a trophy that will be presented at the Change of Command Ceremony on April 18th.  That same weekend is the SE Dinghy Championship @KBYC so if you are attending that regatta you may miss the Fleet Review and Ceremony.

For those of you who are able to attend the Change of Command at LYC, we will be sailing in the Fleet Review.  You must wear your LYC blue polo at this event. I will send more details on the Change of Command soon.

Also, I wanted to remind everyone that with the time change, weekday practices will be ending at 6:30pm.

March 14-15 Weekend Practice & LYC TEAM GEAR

Team,

This weekend we will be hosting around 50 USNT sailors/coaches and will have a very active sailing center. Thank you to all of the families who are hosting the sailors during this practice.

A few important reminders for this weekend:

-Commodores and Green Fleet practice is moved to Saturday, March 14^th 1:30pm-4:30pm.

-Arthur will be coaching Silver Fleet practice on Saturday, March 14^th from 9:30am-4:30pm.

-There will be no Silver, Green, Commodores Fleet practice on Sunday, March 15^th.

-On Sunday Coach Sharon, Arthur and I will be away for professional development. We will be sailing the Snipe Midwinter’s Regatta in Clearwater the 15-17^th.

-On Sunday, Mr. Morley and Mr. Hill have graciously volunteered to take LYC sailors out to watch the US National Team practice. They will be leaving at 12pm and returning around 2pm. Please arrive at the sailing center no later than 11:45pm. Please let me know if you are planning to watch the practice on Sunday so we can get a head count.

Again, Sharon , Arthur and I will be away on Sunday, but Megan will be there to facilitate.

Lastly, I am pleased to announce that we have 3 new team members joining Gold and Silver fleet. Welcome to the team Connor Boland, Sofia Issel and Nico Issel!
